Environmental Factors

Now that you know what environmental factors are, let's see if you can use some critical reasoning and creative thinking to complete the following activity:

Imagine that you are living 200 years in the future. Earth has been invaded by a powerful empire, Akkadiana, but you manage to escape with several friends in a small space ship. Your space ship lands on an unknown planet, but you find that the geography and the environment is just like Earth. The only difference is there are no cities, towns or villages and you and your friends are the only humans here.

Your task:
1) Think about what you have learned in Chapters 4-7 before you begin this blog.

2) Identify 3 environmental factors you would look for before you build your own small village.

3) Write a short explanation for each environmental factor describing why they are important for the survival of your village.

Example: I would look for a river...(give details)

Environmental Factor 1:
I would live in a place near a river or a canal. These two resource would provide food and water. The river or canal will provide food by the river or canal having tons of fish so this is a food resource too. The water would give drink and give water to my crops. So my crops would live. It could also give us "highway" so we could go to other villages.

Environmental Factor 2:
I would live in a flat land near the forest and also near a river. I will live in flat because i could plant crops in a flat land. If i live in the mountains i will have trouble planting my crops. Also the mountains have tons of rocks and only few soil. And if i fall of a cliff i would die. If i live is a desert area i would not do any thing because it's hot and dry. Also there is little water for crops.

Environmental Factor 3:
I would plant many crops for my food resource. I would go to the forest to collect more trees and fruit. The trees provide shade from the hot sun. Some plants also provide medicine.we can use trees to make clothing, baskets,tools and etc. I would also get some flowers to decorate my house.

7 Characteristics of Indonesia

Indonesia
With a population of around 230 million people. The nation's capital city is Jakarta. Our language is Indonesian with Latin alphabet our Independence day declared at 17 august 1945.

Religion: The government officially recognizes only six religions Muslim, Christianity, Catholicism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Contucianism. The biggest mosque in Indonesia is Istiqal.

Government: Indonesia has a government system it is like President, Vice President, Governors, and Normal people. Such as our president SBY (Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono) and the Vice President is Boediono.

The Arts: In Indonesia arts are amazing. Such as batik and the great artist Affandi. Batik is amazing and Affandi works are amazing. His drawing is famous around Indonesia. His museum is located in jogja where his drawing and invention are placed.

Writing: Indonesia has Latin alphabet. Indonesian says differently and writes differently. Like Name is Nama, Pergi is Go, Bapak is Father. This what mainly we use but at some of other city that is not near Jakarta have their own speech.

Technology: Indonesia has tons if technology. Indonesia has it’s own airline such as Mandala and Lion air. They produce other stuff to but they are manufactured all in specific areas such as Surabaya.

Stable Food Supply: Indonesia has a stable food supply by growing crops and making Food Company. Such as one of the brand is Garuda they making different tastes of nuts. These are made in the same area as all the factory Surabaya.

Social Structure: There is a social structure such as President, Vice President, Governors, Normal People and Maids. Almost all normal people could afford a maid. Maids are cheaper to pay at Indonesia then Malaysia. Like my family has 3 Maids at Indonesia.

My Academic and Social Goals for 2010

Academic: what are the problems-doing homework,

With homework i have problem doing homework and bring it in late or never bring it in. This happening because sometimes i think the homework is hard and i always give up. Also sometimes I'm too lazy to do it.

I'm going try to finish my homework in time by coming in lunch everyday to Ms.Nadaraj's room until i caught up with my homework. Also go to homework help after school.

I have problem with my temper like if someone teases me i will get mad and then i will feel i want to punch him in the face. Also someone is always annoys me i get the same anger felling.

I talk to my close friends, counselor and family it helps a lot. I will also try to ignore the person.

Chrismas Holiday

At my Christmas holiday I went to 2 places Bali and Jogja. It was a lot of fun.


In my Christmas holiday I go to Bali first. In Bali I went to Nusa Dua and I lived at Nusa Dua Beach Hotel. The hotel has 2 restaurants and 3 cafes. My room in that hotel is medium sized. I slept with my brothers in one room and my parents in another room. The pool and the beach were amazing me and my brothers swim everyday. In Bali I visited Tanah Lot it is a land near the ocean with holy stuff. I touch a holy snake it’s very scary. After 4 days we left to another city.


Next is Jogja It was awesome I lived inn hotel called Sheraton the hotel is amazing. They have an amazing big long swimming pool that has a bar in the middle. I visited a giant statue of someone. Also a bird head and they are planning to make a giant statue bigger and taller than a five-story building. Then after 3 days we left to go to Jakarta and we celebrated New Year at Jakarta.

So my Christmas holiday is very fun, adventurist and scary.
